Important
Failure to pay tuition fees constitutes grounds for removal from the Programme.
Tuition Fee Exemption
Students who meet the financial or social criteria, as well as the academic excellence requirements relating to their first-cycle studies (undergraduate degree), are eligible for exemption from tuition fees, in accordance with the legislation in force (Article 86 of Law 4957/2022). The applicable income thresholds are announced each academic year. Tuition fee exemption may be granted for enrolment in only one Master's Programme.
- Maximum Number: The number of students granted tuition fee exemptions may not exceed 30% of the students admitted to the Programme in each academic year. If the number of eligible applicants exceeds this limit, exemptions are granted according to a ranking system, with priority given to those with the lowest income.
- Application Submission Period: Applications must be submitted after the completion of the selection process. Under no circumstances shall an applicant's financial circumstances constitute grounds for exclusion from the Programme.
- Responsible Authority: The Assembly of the School of Medicine assesses the eligibility criteria and issues a reasoned decision approving or rejecting the application.
- Exceptions: Students receiving a scholarship from another source, as well as citizens of countries outside the European Union, are not eligible for tuition fee exemption.

Important Clarification
Where legislation establishes an age criterion, the Regulations recommend, in the interests of good administration and equal treatment, that 31 December of the year of birth be considered the individual's date of birth.
Management of Tuition Fees
The Programme's financial resources are managed by the Special Account for Research Funds (ELKE) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). ELKE retains 30% of the revenue generated from tuition fees, while the remaining 70% is allocated to the Programme's operating expenses, including teaching, administrative and technical support, educational materials and scholarships.
