The University & School of Medicine
The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) was founded in 1837. Today, it comprises more than 40 Departments and offers over 200 postgraduate programmes, as well as doctoral programmes across almost every field of study.
As members of the NKUA academic community, students enrolled in the Programme have access to the University’s central services, including its libraries and electronic resources, the eClass learning platform, the Career Office, the Accessibility Unit for Students with Disabilities and psychosocial support services.
The School of Medicine
The School of Medicine has operated since the University was founded in 1837 and forms part of the NKUA School of Health Sciences. It is organised into six academic Divisions and operates university clinics and laboratories across several hospitals in Athens. In addition to its undergraduate medical programmes—one of which is taught in English—the School offers more than 70 postgraduate programmes.
The MSc Programme in Breast Diseases is one of these. Theoretical teaching takes place at the School’s Goudi campus, which is also home to the Health Sciences Library. Clinical training draws on the School’s university clinics and laboratories, including those at Hippokration General Hospital of Athens, Attikon University General Hospital, Laiko General Hospital of Athens and Aretaieion University Hospital.
